Cedar stays truer and looks more natural than green treated lumber or plasticized or composite products. It has a great aroma and a wonderful array of tones and characteristics. It holds paint and stain better and sands smoother. But it is more costly than green, a little less than plasticized. There are also issues about green treated lumber than you should be aware of.

I have no preference either way except to offer the value you want. Many people look around their neighborhood and conform to the dominant notion on whether to get composite, cedar or green.
